We displayed bamboos for the Tanabata festival near the staircase in our preschool.
The bamboos were presented to us by a very kind neighbor.
He owns a hill with lots of bamboos.
It surprised us to see that there was a wild boar trap set up in the woods when we went for the bamboos.
One of the international teachers and I helped in cutting the bamboo trees.
The bamboos were huge and looked awesome!
Our preschoolers on the second floor of MIP building were happy to see the bamboos!
The bamboos were later decorated with children’s wishes and handmade decorations.
This is the first Tanabata event at Moonlight International Preschool.
I talked about the history and significance of Tanabata as celebrated in Greece, Finland, and China as well.
Some teachers also performed a paper puppet theater play about the only annual meet on July 7th of lovers Princess Orihime (Star Vega) and Prince Hikoboshi (Star Altair) and we all sang songs, too.
It was fun to see all the children engaged while enjoying the celebration.
May all the wishes and dreams of our children come true for them on this festive occasion.
