この日が来るまで長かったような短かったような…

２年前には理事長と私の頭の中にしかありませんでした。

国際保育園をつくる…？

最初は何をどうしたらいいのか、まったくわかりませんでした。

It seems to me like it has taken a long time for Moonlight International Preschool (MIP) to arrive, but it also feels like it all started only yesterday. It all begun just in the heads of the preschool director and mine to establish an international preschool. How could that come true…?

今園舎があるところには何もありませんでした。

There was nothing where the preschool is now built.

たくさんの人に相談させていただきました。たくさんの人に支えていただきました。

We asked many people for advice and a lot of people helped us.

廿日市市初の社会福祉法人を立ち上げることができました。

We were able to found the first Social Welfare Corporation in Hatsukaichi.

少しずつ話が進んでいきました。

It began slowly, but surely and definitely, it happened.

地域説明会を通して地域の方々とお話させていただきました。

We had the chance to talk with the local people through the construction information session we held.

入園説明会を通して保護者の皆様とお話させていただきました。

We were able to explain the modus operandi of the preschool through an information session to parents and guardians.

そして４月１日、遂に遂に遂に、つきのひかり国際保育園が入園のつどいを迎えました！
保護者の皆様、入園誠におめでとうございます。

And finally, this month, April 2019, has come! It marked the historic occurrence of Moonlight International Preschool entrance ceremony. Congratulations to the parents for allowing their children to enroll in our preschool.

理事長と私の話に続き、先生方で出し物兼職員紹介をさせていただきました。
「きゃべつ～のなかか～ら、あおむしっ、でったっよっ♪」
に続いてあおむしに扮した先生方が登場です🐛

After the director and I gave our speeches, we did a little skit to introduce the teachers singing the preschool song wearing caterpillar headbands♪

理事長と私のつまらないお話にどんよりした子どもたちのお顔も、にこにこ笑顔になりました(笑)

最後には英語詞と日本語詞を組み合わせた「つきのひかり国際保育園 園歌」も披露させていただきました！子どもたちも、英語でも日本語でも歌えるように、普段から歌っていきたいと思います。

All the children who were then bored with our speeches suddenly glowed with smiles and enjoyed our skit. Finally, all the teachers sang their hearts out to the school song that the head of the preschool composed. It is in both English and Japanese. We hope the children will be able to sing it from time to time.

これまで本当に多くの困難や試練がありましたが、それらを乗り越えられたのは、今日この子どもたちの笑顔につながってほしかったからです。

数多くの皆様にいただいた数えきれないご恩は、本園の子どもたちへの最良の保育・教育でお返ししていきたいと思います。まずは、安心・安全・笑顔を最優先に、子どもたちが落ち着いて過ごせる環境を作っていきます。

まだまだ至らない点が多いですが、何卒よろしくお願い申し上げます！

There were many difficulties and challenges on the way, but we were able to overcome them and, to see the smiles of the children on this day is a great fulfillment of our dreams. We owe the many people we came into contact with on this journey to the opening ceremony of MIP. We would like to express our gratitude to all the numerous people we owe to the children in a form of kindness to all the children enrolled in MIP. We will do our best to ensure beautiful, successful graduation of all the children from MIP, and we thank everyone for their continued support and understanding. May all our cherished dreams come true!
