１月１２日（日）、１３日（月祝）に「国際バカロレア園内研修」を行いました！

本園の全職員が参加し、両日とも朝８時半から夕方１６時半までみっちり国際バカロレアについて学びました。学ぶといっても、国際バカロレアの大切にする探究的な学びや興味・意欲・主体性を大切にした研修で、先生方の感想も「あっという間に終わった」「楽しい活動がたくさんあった」というものでした😄

講師として来て頂いたワークショップリーダーの方は、日本で初めて幼稚園で国際バカロレアを始められた方です。その方に、つきのひかり国際保育園の日本初の試みは素晴らしいと言っていただきました。また、将来当園からワークショップリーダーの方と同じように、国際バカロレアを日本に広めるような先生が出てきてほしいとも言っていただきました。

Moonlight International Preschool had its first International Baccalaureate(IB) in-school workshop on January 12th and 13th!

All the staff members attended the workshop from 8:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon for two days. The teachers learned about IB PYP in Early Years through inquiry and active learning. Almost all of the teachers said the workshop was very fruitful and time well-spent.😄

The workshop leader mentioned that he started with IB in Japan for the first time in a kindergarten. He said that what MIP is trying to do is wonderful and that he hoped that credible workshop leaders will emerge from our preschool as well in the future.

現在、つきのひかり国際保育園は国際バカロレア候補園の段階です。これから認定園になるためには、引き続き保育・教育内容を改善し、国際バカロレア機構が指定したコンサルタントの訪問や国際バカロレア本部からの評価訪問などを受けます。それら全ての手続きが終わり、国際バカロレア機構本部の認可が下りると、晴れて国際バカロレア認定園となります。国際バカロレア認定園となった後も定期的に評価訪問を受け、質の高い国際教育を実施しているかどうかチェックが入ります。

MIP is at the candidacy stage as an IB school. We are going to continue improving our childcare and education, have a consultant visit, verification visit, and after all the procedures, we will become an authorized IB World School, if approved. After becoming an IB World School, we will continue to have visits and evaluations, which will help us reflect and maintain high-quality international education.

認可保育園初の国際バカロレア認定園に向けて、課題もたくさんあります。その一つとして、今回の研修が挙げられます。幼稚園や小学校では土曜日休みや長期休みなどがありますが、保育園にはありません。ですから、日曜日と祝日に先生方に参加していただくしか、２日間の研修を行う方法がありませんでした。
また、先生方同士の打ち合わせの時間も非常に重要になるのですが、朝早くから夕方遅くまで子どもたちがいる保育園では、先生方同士が話し合う時間が持ちにくいのも現状です。

これらの課題を解決しつつ、世界基準の保育・教育が提供できるようつきのひかり国際保育園は一層精進してまいります！

There are still many challenges that we are facing now as the first ‘Hoikuen’ to become an IB School. The first is the fact that compared to kindergarten or elementary schools that have Saturdays off and long vacation periods, Hoikuen only enjoys Sundays and public holidays off, when the preschool is closed. Therefore, we had our IB in-school workshop on a Sunday and a public holiday. Also, it is important to have teachers meetings for collaboration and planning sessions. As it stands now, there is not much time for teachers to meet in Hoikuen because they are with the children from 7:00 in the morning until 7:00 in the evening.

Nevertheless, we will strive to address these problems and offer world-class childcare and education here at Moonlight International Preschool. Continue to wish us luck!
