Corn Field Fun with the 4-Year-Old Star Class
It was a little cloudy and cold, but the children were excited to go to a corn farm. They rode the school bus to the farm, and the principal was the driver.
After about 20 minutes, they arrived at the farm in Saeki Ward.At the farm, the children planted baby corn plants and felt the moist soil in their hands. They had a fun time with nature. Everyone is excited to pick the corn in summer during harvest! Near the farm, they also found horsetail plants. The children said, “I found one!” and “There are so many!” They looked very happy.Next, they went to a bamboo forest and dug for bamboo shoots. They used sticks, twigs, and their bare hands to dug out the bamboo shoots. They worked in teams and found eleven bamboo shoots all together! Then, they went to a small pond and fed some koi fish. They watched the fish swim and felt very calm and happy.Even though it was a cold day, the children moved their bodies and played a lot in nature. Next time, the 5-Year Old Sun Class will visit the farm. We are excited to see what they will find! For lunch on this day, the children will eat bamboo shoot rice and soup with bamboo shoots they picked. Yummy! Yummy!
