つきのひかり国際こども園では、保育の一環として「食育」を大切にしています。
子どもたちが日々の食を通して「命をいただくこと」や「感謝の心」を体験的に学び、自ら問いを持ち、考え、行動する力を育てていくことを目指しています。そこで、地域の魚屋さんに来ていただき、「ブリの解体ショー」を行いました。目の前で大きな魚が捌かれていく過程を、子どもたちは真剣な眼差しで見つめていました。１歳から５歳まで、年齢に関係なくその目はどの子も同じで、個々がたくさんの感じ方や思いを心に抱いているようでした。
それぞれの年齢なりに、しっかりと感じ取っていたように思います。

Fish Cutting Show
At Moonlight International, we value food education (shokuiku) as an important part of our daily childcare. Through hands-on experiences with food, we nurture children to learn about the gift of life through meals and to develop a sense of gratitude, curiosity, and the ability to think and act appropriately for themselves.This time, we invited a local fishmonger to slice a big yellowtail for a fish show at the preschool! The kids watched in awe as the big fish was carefully prepared in front of them. From one-year olds to five-year olds, their eyes were all fixed on the same moment, full of curiosity and wonder. Each child was absorbed and the experience was one of a kind. It was a meaningful day where the children truly felt something new. It was a special and natural experience the children are going to cherish for a long time to come.
