つきのひかり国際保育園では保育園の裏の畑をお借りして野菜の栽培をしています。

野菜作りは種を蒔き、苗を植えただけでは出来ません。畑の草を抜き、肥料をやり、大きくなると脇芽を摘み、誘引し上に伸びていくよう導きます。雨が降らないときには水やりも欠かせません。そして、手をかけて大切に育てていくことでおいしい野菜ができます。

素人ではなかなか難しい作業ですが畑を貸してくださっているご近所さんが手取り足取り教えてくださり先生方も時間がある時には作業しています。

今、ファームでは夏野菜がぐんぐんと大きく育っています。子ども達には野菜の観察や収穫をしていく中で、野菜作りにも興味を持って欲しいと思っています。

Tsukino Hikari International Nursery School rents a field behind the nursery to grow vegetables.

You can’t grow vegetables just by sowing seeds and planting seedlings. Pulling weeds, fertilizing, pruning, staking, and watering when it doesn’t rain are all important steps in farming. Only by carefully caring for your seeds and seedlings can you harvest delicious vegetables.

It is a difficult task for an amateur, but the gentleman, who rents us the field, teaches us how to take these steps. And all the teachers and students take part in the MIP farm. Now, summer vegetables are growing big on the farm. While observing and harvesting vegetables, I want the children to be interested in making vegetables.
